People buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, coloured balls and lights.Santa Claus brings presents in bright paper and ribbons. Children wake up early to find stockings full of small presents on their beds. People wish each other a «Merry Christmas!»

Day. It is a day of love and friendship. People send Valentine’s cards to our sweethearts and ask them to «Be my Valentine».The sweethearts must guess who sent cards.

Mother’s Day. People buy nice greeting cards and flowers. Men usually make a big dinner and say «Thanks for being such a great Mom!» on that day.

Ireland. It is called St. Patrick’s Day. On that day people wear something green or a shamrock. The shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland.
St. Patrick was a man who had wonderful power. He cleared Ireland from snakes.

Easter they colour eggs.
On Easter Sunday children get chocolate eggs, that the Easter Bunny has left them in a basket of candy.

English children like this day very much. They play jokes and tricks on their friends, even on adults.
