Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill was a British politician who
was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. Churchill was also an officer in the British Army, a historian, a writer and an artist. He also won the Nobel Prize in Literature.

of Marlborough, a branch of the Spencer family. His father, Lord Randolph Churchill, was a charismatic politician. His mother, Jennie Jerome, was an American socialite. As a young army officer, he saw action in British India, the Sudan, and the Second Boer War. He gained fame as a war correspondent and wrote books about his campaigns.

family with royal ancestry. After her parents divorce, she was raised in Park House, which was situated near to the Sandringham estate. She got education in England and Switzerland. Her wedding to the Prince of Wales on 29 July 1981 was held at St Paul's Cathedral and seen by a global television audience of over 750 million.

best known for his contributions to evolutionary theory. Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species. By the 1870s the scientific community and much of the general public had accepted evolution as a fact.

medical education at the University of Edinburgh. In University he helped to investigate marine invertebrates. Darwin began detailed investigations and in 1838 conceived his theory of natural selection.

widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His extant works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses.

age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor.
