live in a boat! I think that living in a houseboat is a lot more exciting. I don’t have a regular job, so I can stay in one area for some months and then move somewhere else. England is just a perfect place for that because it has lots of canals. So, I feel independent. If you think I’m strange, I know a man who lives in a caravan and another friend who lives in a lighthouse!

A HOUSEBOAT

long and old history. All my ancestors lived in the palace built by the family hundreds of years ago. There are 350 rooms in our palace. They are big and small, full of furniture and almost empty, some of them are very cozy but some are a bit uncomfortable.
It’s great to live in the palace full of wonderful collections of paintings and furniture! But it’s very expensive to look after the palace and the gardens. That’s why part of our house is open to the public.
Tourists can visit the Palace, the Gardens, a model railway and a gift shop. So, everyone can enjoy the great cultural treasures of the past and our family can make money to keep the house.
