4. Computer: It’s the thing you need

Computers help us in different spheres of our life. Computers are everywhere. Computers have different form and different ways of using.

a computer which you look at [A monitor]

A flat piece of plastic for storing information from a computer
[A floppy disk]

A small object that you move with your hand to operate a computer [A mouse]

A part of a computer you use to pass information to or from a disk [A disk drive]

amounts of information [CD-ROM]

The equipment inside a computer which allows information to sent to another computer
using a telephone line [A modem]

A flat piece of rubber or plastic which you use under a mouse [mouse mat]

like a typewriter, address book, checking our spelling.
We can go on the Internet. It’s a brilliant source of information.
We can load of information for school. It’s for fun.
We can play and learn on it.
Computers can help very disabled or very ill children make friends with children who have suffered the same problems.

There are positive and negative sides of computerized society.

rely on them too much.
Computer shouldn’t replace seeing your friends.
Students today belong to the ‘computer generation’. Few of them find time to read books, magazines and newspapers.
Another negative aspect, to our mind, is the computerized services. If most services are computerized, it will be easy other to find privet information about person.

spheres of our life: in shops, in schools, in banks, in factories, in universities and others. We can’t imagine the future people’s life without computers. Computers are the one of the sides of the technical progress.
