The US Constitution, proclaimed in 1787, is the supreme law of the country, which protects the rights of all the people living in the USA, preserves the structure of the national government and describes its rights and fields of authority. It includes the Preamble, seven articles and 26 amendments, which help make some changes or add some new things.

The legislative branch is the Congress, which consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The main function of the legislative branch is to make laws.
