1939 to 1945. It directly involved more than 100 million people from over 30 countries. World War II was the deadliest conflict in human history, marked by 50 to 85 million fatalities, most of which were civilians in the Soviet Union…
Today we are going to talk about the monuments that commemorate the victim of this disastrous war in two countries Russia and the United Kingdom.

Sculptor John Mills was inspired after seeing a 1940s photograph of a cloakroom at a dance hall. The sculpture features 17 items of clothing depicting the various roles carried out by women during the war. The bronze monument is 26.7 m high, 4.9 m long and 1.8 m wide.

RAF Bomber Command Memorial (London)

The Royal Air Force Bomber Command Memorial is a memorial in Green Park, central London. It is dedicated to the thousands of airmen who lost their lives in the Second World War. The memorial is located on Piccadilly near Hyde Park Corner.
