close-knit and well-off. Unfortunately, being a young man John lost his parents. His father died when he fell from his horse. Later his mother and younger brother died of tuberculosis.

studying, he also could not work, though he tried to get fixed up in a detective agency. John left the hospital, where he had had practice (while a student) as a physician pharmacist’s trainee. He went to live in the care of friends, and plunged into the wonderful world of books and poetry.

publish almost everything he had written. In less than 4 years he published three books – two collections with poems, which include sonnets, odes, ballads, and poems "Lamia", "Isabella"; and the poem "Endymion" was published as a separate edition.

it will never Pass into nothingness; but still will keep A bower quiet for us, and a sleep Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

had ill-wishers. They were sensitive about poet’s criticism towards them. For his scathing and sarcastic remarks, Keats was the one who paid. English magazines sent thick reviews to the poet, which tore his poems to pieces.

quite early. Throughout his life John was very demanding of himself. He travelled across Ireland and Scotland, mountain scenery awakened his imagination.

of Nevis, blind in mist! I look into the chasms, and a shroud Vaporous doth hide them; just so much I wist  Mankind do know of Hell. I look o'erhead, And there is sullen mist; even so much  Mankind can tell of Heaven…

he met Fanny Browne – the girl who lived next door. Soon, she became his Muse and the love of his life. He dedicated a good many poems to her.

lone splendour hung aloft the night And watching, with eternal lids apart, Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite1, The moving waters at their priestlike task Of pure ablution round earth's human shores, Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask Of snow upon the mountains and the moors— No—yet still stedfast, still unchangeable, Pillowed upon my fair love's ripening breast, To feel forever its soft fall and swell, Awake forever in a sweet unrest, Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath, And so live ever—or else swoon to death.

of his life Keats felt he was dying.

In 1818 they were engaged had an engagement.

never look upon thee more, Never have relish in the faery power     Of unreflecting love; — then on the shore Of the wide world I stand alone, and think Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.

He offered Fanny to divorce her, to which she disagreed.

which he said as he saw the blood on his handkerchief for the first time:
 «I know the colour of that blood; it is arterial blood; I cannot be deceived in that colour; that drop of blood is my death warrant. I must die. »

the disease, but he lived there only a few months. He was buried in Rome. On the gravestone, at his request, the inscription says: "Here lies one whose name was written in water"

off the mourning and walked across the Heath waste reciting his poemsm

brought brief life of the poet to a simple formula: "a Few faithful friends, a few beautiful poems, passionate love and early death." The thread of existence was cut short before it was given ... Pages, like the barn, to accommodate Countless thoughts Mature grain... ( "When I Have Fears...").
