В английском языке две буквы могут передавать один звук. Мы
уже знаем, что буквосочетание ir и er передают звук [ɜ:] – her, bird. Сегодня новое правило.
Буквосочетание ea читается как [i:] – meat, tea, eat, speak, teacher, jeans, clean, read, cream, please
Буквосочетание ee читается как [i:] – meet, see, keep, feel, feet, feed, cheek
Буква е в открытом слоге тоже читается как [i:] – he, she, we, Peter
Вывод: Долгий звук [i:] передают буквосочетания ee, ea и буква е в открытом слоге
