heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer – A-chasing the wild deer, and following the roe; My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North The birth place of Valour, the country of Worth;  Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,  The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. Farewell to the mountains high cover'd with snow;  Farewell to the straths and green valleys below;  Farewell to the forrests and wild-hanging woods;  Farwell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods. My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here,  My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer  Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe;  My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.

Слайд 5A Red, Red Rose
My love is like a red, red rose

That’s newly sprung in June :
My love is like the melody
   That’s sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
   So deep in love am I :
And I will love thee still, my dear,
   Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
   And the rocks melt wi’ the sun :
And I will love thee still, my dear,
   While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only love,
   And fare thee weel a while !
And I will come again, my love,
   Thou’ it were ten thousand mile

Не высохнут моря, мой друг, Не рушится гранит, Не остановится песок, А он, как жизнь, бежит... Будь счастлива, моя любовь, Прощай и не грусти. Вернусь к тебе, хоть целый свет Пришлось бы мне пройти!

«Man May Learn»
What

man may learn, what man may do, Of right or wrong of false or true, While, skipper-like, his course he steers Through nine and twenty mingled years, Half misconceived and half forgot, So much I know and practise not.

Old are the words of wisdom, old The counsels of the wise and bold: To close the ears, to check the tongue, To keep the pining spirit young; To act the right, to say the true, And to be kind whate'er you do.

Thus we across the modern stage Follow the wise of every age; And, as oaks grow and rivers run Unchanged in the unchanging sun, So the eternal march of man Goes forth on an eternal plan.

Слайд 11To You
By Blanche De Good Lofton

If I could do whatever I

want to do,
To make complete your gladsome Christmas Day,
I would not bring a single thing to you,
But I would come and take some things away:

I`d take away all trouble from your heart;
Each pain and sorrow I would have relieved;
And every word that caused a single smart,
And every hour through which you sadly grieved.

I`d have them all be gone – forever gone –
Forgotten, like the things that cannot be;
And then each hour would be a joyful one,
For only good things would be left, you see.

Now that is what I`d really like to do –
If I could do the things I wish for you.
