In 1950 American sociologist David Riesman introduced the concept of subculture. According to Riesman a subculture is a group of people with specific interests. In the USSR, the term described as informal associations of young people. Today we`re going to look through some of them.

Firstly this term was related to young people who were driving motorbikes. The classical garb of rockers consists of leather jacket with lots of stripes, classical blue jeans or leather pants.
Despite the stereotypes rockers are not really aggressive to the surrounding and other subcultures.

main idea of Ravers is non-stop party. Ravers never miss any party. They are always in the center of the nightlife. Ravers prefer electronic music.
The biggest part of Ravers prefer bright clothes, not to be lost in the huge crowd.

60-s, later graffiti started spreading around the world incredibly fast. Graffiti painters are mostly teenagers, because adult people understand that in fact it is illegal. Government consider graffiti to be a vandalism.
For graffiti painters it doesn`t matter where to make a picture, whether it is a building or even a subway wagon.

According to my presentation I may say that subcultures of the UK and our country are almost the same with exception of some small details. In fact, people`s attitude to subcultures and their opinions on why do people join subcultures are totally depend on the mentality .
