Leopard is one of the eight subspecies of leopard. It is only found in the Russian Far East and North East China and there are fewer than 40 individuals left in the wild.
This makes the Amur leopard one of the world’s most endangered big cats and for this reason it is listed as Critically Endangered.

Russia’s Far East was created to protect Amur leopards. It began operating in April 2012.
