Stereotypes help cover our ignorance.
Stereotypes consist basically in shared beliefs or thoughts about a particular human group. A stereotype is an ensemble of characteristics which sums up a human group usually in terms of behaviour, habits, etc.
Stereotypes are a part of human life though they may present one-sided, exaggerated and even prejudicial views of religious, racial, ethnic groups of people, as well as classes of people.
Stereotypes are often included in anecdotes, humorous stories, private diaries.
