the vilage of Badrakovo, the Buraevsky district of the BASSR. He joined the army in January, 1943 and he was sent to the 1st Ukrainian Front. My Grandfather served as a gunner.

got me with them. My task was to destruct enemy planes while the spotters had to report the situation. I climbed the mountain with my machine gun. I remembered when planes were flying very low above me, I shoot them. When enemy attacked me, I hid between the rocks. I even saw German pilot who shook his fist at me because they wanted to kill me but they couldn't do it. Our spotters have done their task successfully and their commander promised me to give an award but he was killed later. At that moment I didn't think about it. I have just done my work to defend the country».

This year he has celebrated his 90th birthday and he meets 70th Anniversary of the Great Victory. I admire and I am proud of my Grandfather!
