Manchester. Was founded in 1878 under the name "Newton Heath" in 1902 changed the name to "Manchester United". One of the most popular football clubs in the world. It is the largest after Wembley football stadium in England and has a capacity of over 75 thousand spectators. "Manchester United" is one of the most successful English clubs by the number of titles won in history, and under sir Alex Ferguson — the most successful club in England, winning 38 trophies from 1986 to 2013. In 2012/13 Manchester United to a record 20th time won the title. In 1968, "Manchester United" became the first English club to win the European Cup, winning the final of the Portuguese "Benfica" with the score 4:1. In 1999, the second time the club won a major European trophy, defeating in the final of the Munich "Bavaria" with the score 2:1. In 2008, United again won the Champions League, having beaten in the ending of the London "Chelsea".
