Once upon a time there lived a wise man. One day he put a jar (a kind of bottle) in front of his pupils, put some big stones inside and asked if the jar was full.

he put a jar (a kind of bottle) in front of his pupils, put some big stones inside and asked if the jar was full. Pupils agreed. Then he added some small stones and asked the same question. Pupils said : “Yes, Teacher”. Finally he added some sand and asked again the previous question. And his pupils nodded again.
“This jar is your life. Big stones are your most important things. If you lose everything, excepting these things, your life will be full like this jar. Small stones show other things which are important for you, but if you lose them, you will find the way to change them. The sand shows trifles (small things). If you fill your jar with the sand there will not be place for big stones.”
