Слайд 3 Christmas is one of the most

importance festivals in the United States of America. Traditionally Americans like decorating their house beginning usually with their indoors where they hang up evergreen wreaths (this tradition has come from England) which are made to symbolise midwinter long celebrations before the Birth of Christ.

Easter is one of the most important

festivals for a lot of Americans that connected with the resurrection and the rising to heaven of Christ after he was hung on the cross. His rise to a new life in heaven was a message of joy and hope for all mankind and Christians all over the world. Christians began to celebrate the feast of the resurrection at the time of Easter.

The

colossal figure of a woman with uplifted flame across the entrance to the New World is a symbol of America to many people, but it was conceived as an expression of France republican ideals. The idea for such a monument was first discussed in 1865 at the Paris home of Edouard Rene Lefebure de Laboulaye, legal scholar and authority on America.

The Institution began in the 1850s, with a gift from Englishman James Smithson, a British scientist. The Castle, which is the original building and worldwide symbol of the Smithsonian, was constructed in 1850s and houses the Smithsonian headquarters and a visitor information center.

Слайд 21Summing up.
The tasks have been solved. We

have found out the influence of the European cultures on the traditions and culture of the USA. We have made up the table of the studied materials. We have systematized and analyzed the results of research. We present results in graphs. As the result of the research the aim is reached.
No doubt that the European colonists had influenced on the customs of the USA making a great contribution in the culture of the United States of America. In fact, the United States of America is famous of its unique history and cultural traditions. The culture of the United States is rooted in its origin as British colonies, but it has been strongly influenced by subsequent waves of immigration, first from Europe and Africa and later from all over the world. Overall, the most significant cultural influences came from northern Europe, especially from the German, English, French and Irish cultures. We have found out the Irish contribution in architecture, education and government. Englishman James Smithson, a British scientist has made a great donation in the foundation of the Smithsonian. The Statue of Liberty National Monument is a memorial gift of France to the USA. The Yankee character may partly explain the special role that New England has played in the United States history. The Yankee peddler played an important part in American life, from the early days of the colonies until the last days of the nineteenth century.
The practical value of the research is that material can be used in English, in History, in the Geographical classes and in the Fine Art classes.
Summing up. The tasks have been solved. We have found out the influence of
