При определении цели и задач были выделены следующие этапы работы:
1. Отбор историко-культурного материала о школе на родном языке (работа в библиотеке, в музее школы, изучение работ выпускников на схожие темы)
2. Организация материала
3. Выбор фотографий
4. Перевод отобранного материала на английский язык.
5. Коррекция содержания (грамматическая, стилистическая, лексическая)
6. Подготовка компьютерного варианта
7. Презентация

При грамотном использовании средств английского языка для презентации культурно-исторической значимости школы №1, получится готовый турпродукт.

Помимо русскоязычных туристов в наш город стали приезжать иностранные туристы с целью знакомства с нашей культурой. Но доступной информации на английском языке о городе очень мало. Следовательно возникает проблема создания краеведческого справочника на английском языке. Одной из ярких достопримечательностей города является наша школа с её 100-летней историей. Каждый человек, где бы он не родился, где бы он не жил, питает искренние, неподдельные чувства к своей малой родине. Наш родной край – это частичка нашей души. Наш Торопец богат историей, интересными людьми и традициями. Часть истории нашего города – это история нашей школы. Даже коренные торопчане не всегда знают, что наша школа одна из старейших в области. Мы, как ученики этой школы, проучившиеся здесь не один год, хотели бы рассказать о нашей школе всем, кто посетит наш родной город, включая иностранных туристов.
Мы увлеклись этой темой именно в этом году потому, что наша школа отмечает 100-летний юбилей. Кроме того наша школа находится на въезде в наш город, и было бы логично начать экскурсию по Торопцу именно с рассказа о нашей школе №1.
Наш реферат является продолжением исследовательских работ Кулагиной Н. (выпускницы 2007-го года) «Торопец: история малых городов» и Бобовкиной М. (выпускницы 2008-го года) « Будущее древнего Торопца как центра туризма».
Разговаривая с нашими выпускниками, учителями, учениками, мы поняли, что каждый из них воспринимает нашу школу по-разному, но все они гордятся школой и любят её. Но нам бы хотелось, чтобы о нашей школе знали не только торопчане, но и все кто посещает наш город, поэтому мы рады рассказать об истории школы, её праздниках и сегодняшнем дне.
Мы считаем, что школа – это исток нашей будущей жизни. Туризм в Торопце будет постепенно развиваться, поэтому наша работа может предоставить интерес с этой точки зрения.

Only because of that we can firmly call it School №1.Besides as a rule we win prizes in sport and creative contests, take and active part in intellectual quizzes and entertaining activities. I am absolutely sure, that everybody remembers their school for the rest of their life. Our school is impossible to forget. I bet. Probably many people met their first love at school; this is really a wonderful thing about school live.
Some of our parents learned at school №1. This is remarkable proof that school №1 was the second home for talented, kind and independent peoples.
Our school is famous for its tradition of continuity. I mean a lot of our teachers are our school-leavers (Pumpurs E. N., Polikarpova S. A., Kozlova G. A., Jurchenko T. N.,Novikova E. B., Zakharova M. A…..)
A lot of teachers have been working at our school for many years (Gigel N. M., Shyshlova N. V.,Ovsjannikova M. A., Burlakova V. N.)

As to me, I have been learning at our school for 8 years already. And I realize that I will have to part it in 3
years. It makes me feel sad, as I am quite sure that I'll leave here a part of my soul.
So I try to remember and store in my mind the brightest of my school life. I`m absolutely sure, nothing can
be compared with my Second Home School Number 1.
I have good friends here, I have already learnt a lot at school and I think I will be indebted to my teachers for the rest of life.
Besides, I like my class very much. We are 22 in our class: 11 boys and 11 girls. I can say that our class is very united; we are very active in school life. We like humor.
Our teachers say that we are sometimes naughty. But it is because we very active.

Our school-Number 1

September,17,1908
Opening of real school was caused by the development of capitalist in the country on a boundary of 19-20 centuries. Factories were opening and this process required the qualified specialists. And Toropets real school was to prepare young men for entering specialized higher educational institutions. The first headmaster of the school was N. E. Kholodovsky.
The school gave so good knowledge that school-leavers enteried higher educational institutions of Moscow, and in the greater degree of Saint Petersburg. The respect for the child was cultivated. At the end of the war former front-line soldiers came to work as school-teachers. A. I. Bjuro, S. M. Mikhailov, J. T. Blokha, P. J. Jegorov, P. A. Zheleznjakov, later came M. D. Brjantsev, A. I. Grjaditsky, P. I. Kolbanjov, G. T. Bojurnov( our librarian`s father), V. M. Gofman (Olga Buyakova`s great grandfather,)

and became the headmaster of our school), Zimina Y.P., Udachnaja O. P., Maljukova V. L., Sidorenko T. P.,
Aleksejev A. A., Lukina N. I., Poljakova A. M., Rudakova T. I., Vasiljeva A. V., Keppa P. P., Arbuzova G. P. are
closely connected with the history of our school. Generations of our school leavers are greateful to them for their
knowledge.

Besides sport achievement added to the popularity of our school at that time. Very soon school №1 became famous as one of the foremost schools in our region. It happened because of high level of knowledge given by the skilled and experienced teachers, great activity of our pupils in sport, social life and creative work.
In my opinion the fame of any school is also created by its teaching stuff. As to my school it has always been known for prominent and skilled teachers. If we speak about our school`s history we must surely mention that 2 teachers Gavrilov I. N. (headmaster) and Topilsky N. N. (Art teacher) were given the title of Honoured Teacher of Russia.

Our school in 50-80 ies.

A lot of events took place here a lot of teachers worked and are still working at our school and a number of generations of pupils finished our school. About 500 pupils study here now. So it was a great holiday for school leaves, former and present day teachers, our pupils.
A lot of guests (mainly school-leavers) came from different places, even from foreign countries. What an unforgettable impression it was to see their emotions while meeting their former classmater and favorite teachers. Tears filled their eyes, they embraced each other, exchanger news and complements.

The 100-th anniversary of our school

One of the biggest presents to our school jubilee opening of our school museum, organized by the group of enthusiasts, headed by Gigel N. M.
After that festive programme with concert, solemn speeches and warm greetings words took place in the House of Culture.
In the evening hearty schools leavers parties, including communication with teachers, former class tutors,school mates were official and at the same time touching and warm. I am sure that our 100-th anniversary celebration left lasting impression on everybody.

Our school will have extra optional courses in various subjects. I mean that every pupil will have an opportunity to get deeper knowledge in the subjects which are a must for their future profession.
From our point of view it will help many senior students to get better prepared to General state Exams.
But school is known not only for learning process, it is also famous for its traditions, atmosphere. We are sure, that our school will always be on the one hand conservative (it will keep its traditions and spirit) and on the other hand it will be a school of new generation with new ideas and starting.
They remember their traditions and festivals held in the school: birthday parties, Women`s Day, 23-d of February, Mother`s Day, ABC-fest. And they try to keep on celebrating some them in the new school. In their first junior school year they have already got acquainted with our school traditions. The Decade of Knowledge, Sport competitions. But the 5-th formers don`t want to stop learning their new school. They try to look into the future and to imagine the future of our school. They hope that our school will flourish and will always be as hospitable and famous for good level of knowledge.
Children would like to have more outings. Health Sport Days and self government days arranged in our school, as it helps learn each other better and have spiritual contact with those who loves our school as much as we do.

В ходе нашей работы мы опирались на материал исследовательских работ Кулагиной Н, и Бобовкиной М, и постарались развить их в новом направлении. Если их исследовательские работы были связаны с историей г. Торопца и его перспективой, как туристического центра, то мы сделали первый шаг к разработке экскурсий по конкретным объектам города. Наша работа является актуальной т.к. мы работаем над ней в год празднования 100-летия школы.
Наша работа может стать хорошим материалом для новых исследовательских работ. Например, о выдающихся учителях и учениках школы, о жизни современной молодежи в школе, о перспективах развития школы и т.д.
Кроме того, можно продолжить знакомство с достопримечательностями города, начав свой маршрут со здания нашей школы и школьной территории, и разработать экскурсию по другим объектам города.
Кроме того, наша творческая работа может послужить примером для других ребят в разработке экскурсий по их школам в которых они тоже рассказали бы об истории, традициях своей школы.
Работа над нашим проектом помогла нам проверить и совершенствовать свои знания английского языка, а так же впервые принять участие в таком творческом процессе, как написание серьезной работы. Очень приятно, что наша работа может вызвать интерес как у наших ребят, так и у взрослых и может использоваться на практике.
Кроме того, она помогла нам лучше узнать историю родной школы, и мы почувствовали истинную гордость от того, что мы являемся частью великого целого…. Школы №1
