of the most impressive sights in the city. It is situated in the national Park. It was built in honour of the first President of the USA in 1888. It is called “the Pencil” because it is one of the tallest stone constructions in the world. It rises 160 metres .

All American presidents have lived in the White House. It was built in 1799.
There are more than hundred rooms in the White House. The largest room in this building is the East Room.

Liberty carries the torch of freedom in her right hand. In her left hand she is holding a tablet with the inscription "July 4, 1776" — American Independence Day.
