Sergey Nepobedimy is the famous missile designer. He spent his childhood and youth in provincial town Shchigry.

Слайд 3He was born in 1921 in Ryazan but when he was
1 year old he moved to village Nikolskoe, Shchigry’s district. Then he moved to Shchigry.
Слайд 4His farther was the main mechanic of the State Farm. Sergey
studied at school №2.
He made his first model when he was a pupil. It was a ship, which could swim by water very well. The 14-years old boy sent his product to Moscow on Young Technician’s exhibition.
Слайд 5Sergey was always thankful to his town, school and social atmosphere.
In Shchigry I have received a big charge which was enough for a lifetime.
-he said in one of the telephone conversation.
He was saving the communication with his hometown. The constructor came to Shchigry very often and communicated with citizens.
Слайд 6In 1938 Sergey became a student of Bauman Moscow State Technical
University.
Nepobedimy chose the faculty of ammunition. The Second World War changed his life. He wanted to be a volunteer. But he had to continue his study.

Sergey’s workday lasted from 17 to 20 hours. He lived without rest.

Sergey participated in the creating of different recoilless guns.
Слайд 8Missiles “Shmel”, “Malutka”, “Shturm”, “Chrizantema” controlled during flight and induced on
the target were created by him.
Слайд 10After several developments missiles were canceled. It became a big pain
for Nepobedimy.
For example, “Oka” was being developed for 5 years and it was able to walk on the road, to swim, to overcome obstacles. It was one of the best his inventions.
Слайд 12He held a great number of prestigious positions. Sergey worked hard
in scientific centers and institutes, read lections and reports.
He was the author of 350 scientific works, inventions and discoveries.
Слайд 13He was awarded Lenin Prize (1964), three State Prizes (1969, 1976,
1981), three Orders of Lenin. He became the Hero of Socialist Labour in 1971 and Honored Designer of the Russian Federation in 2001. He is a laureate of Vernadsky’s, Zhukov’s prizes and People-Era award. Sergey is the honored citizen of Moscow region, Ryazan region, Kolomna (Moscow region) and Shchigry (Kursk Region).
Слайд 15In 2011 Nepobedimy’s square was opened in Shchigry and constructor’s bust
was installed there. In honor of this event Nepobedimy has recorded a voice message for Shchigry’s people.
Слайд 16New square, the places where Sergey lived and studied have already
become a part of town’s cultural, historical heritage and can attract a lot of tourists who want to make acquaintance with hometown of the famous scientist.
