The Mari Heroes of the Great Patriotic War

front of the Great Patriotic war and more than a half of them didn’t come home. Also 10 of them got awards of Glory of 3 degrees, more than 60 soldiers were awarded by awards of the Red Banner and more than 15 000 soldiers from Mari El got different war awards. I would like to say some words about some of the Mari heroes.

in Mari El. In the night from 25 to 26 September 1943 he forced the river Dnieper.In the fight for the base he skillfully corrected battery fire and conducted investigation. During the fight he got some wounds but didn’t leave the battlefield. He fought in Bessarabia, Romania, Poland. Mikhail Lebedev died on the 2nd of January 1945 in Poland. He got 2 awards.

1916 in Mari El. On the 29th of January 1943 he took 5 captives in Stalingrad. Then he was awarded with the medal "For Services in Battle". On the 27th of June 1944 in the fight for village Hodakovo Konstantin Kutrukhin closed the gun embrasure of enemy with his body.
