Слайд 2I live in Republic of Tuva. Our Republic has a beautiful
nature. There are a lot of forests, rivers, fields, mountains and colourful landscapes. Our region has the long rich history. It has a lot of monuments and the other sights.
Слайд 3 One of the most interesting monuments of the ancient
Turks of Tuva are the stone statues. Nowadays, there are more than 200 stone sculptures on Tuvan steppes, which are objects of worship.
The aim of my work is to tell you about the Stone Statue- Kizhi-Kozhe.

“Uryanhay.
Tyva Depter” says, that
“In Tyva in many localities we can find “open books”, in which our ancestors left traces of stay on this territory. Stone sculptures, petroglyphs, remnants of ancient military castle mounds, kurgans, in which the kings were buried.
Слайд 7 One of these places is a village Bizhiktig-Khaya, in
translation from Tuvan language- rock with letters and pictures. It is an amazing and mysterious place”

Kizhi-Kozhe is an archaeological uniqness of Tyva. It is
a figure of the mighty warrior with wide cheekbones face from reddish granite which impresses with its size. They say, this warrior is 1200 years old.
Слайд 10 Historians believe that, such stone statues were made to
especially distinguished warrior. Some people name this statue “Chingiz-Khan”. Tulush Temir Konstantinovich, tuvan archaeological researcher of Tuvan Institute says, that the statue of Chingiz-Khan dates back VI-IX centuries, and this statue was created by ancient uigurs, because there is a jar in his hands. This is typical for Ancient uigur sculpturers .

Valentina Kendenovna –mathematic teacher Kyzyl-Mazhalyk school #2 , our informant told one of the legends. She said that in the early 60s one local tractor driver whose name was Bakyi dug up the statue to sell it.
Слайд 12 But he was caught by local officials. He was
ordered to put in place the statue. The tractor driver put it, but soon he died under mysterious circumstances. His family was haunted by failure. Residents said that he disturbed the spirits who guarded Statue Kizhi-Kozhe.
Слайд 13Valentina Kendenovna told us another legend. In a place named Chyrgaky
there is a stone statue of a young beautiful woman, local population says that this stone statue is Chingiz-Khan’s breid.
Слайд 14 Nowadays the sculpture of an ancient warrior is known
for not only in Tuva, but also far beyond its boarders. Kizhi-Kozhe has become a popular tourist destination.
Слайд 15Locals believe that Kizhi-Kozhe is a holy place, it is an
object of worship. People make a secret wish, whispering in the ear. They say secrets become true.

white or coloured fabric(кадак).

Today the territory is arranged and people keep order in this
place. This is a wealth of the planet, we have something to be proud of.
