Our working hypothesis says that borrowings are an important and useful part of our language and so we can’t communicate without them.

native language. Language is the cultural value of every nation. Language mainly helps people to share information. That’s why we learn languages of other countries. The knowledge of a foreign language can help us work, travel, study and make friends. Language is alive and constantly changing.

enrich the language. Some borrowings come from the English language because English is the international mean of communication. Foreign language terms began to dominate in different fields of science and technology:

□ File (файл)
□ Scanner (сканнер)
□ Monitoring (мониторинг)



We are used to some borrowings and we don't even think where they came from. How much will borrowings change the Russian language? Only time will tell.

For example, an English word ‘killer’ has got a negative meaning as compared with a Russian word “убийца” (murderer). To name a person a “убийца” (murderer) means to pass him a sentence. But if we name him a “киллер” (killer), we define his profession. ‘I’m a dealer, you are a killer and we are doing our businesses.’

Many discoveries and inventions are appearing nowadays . The scientists give names to them. These names come to our language as borrowings. This process makes our life easier.

Let’s do not reject borrowings (of course except slang).
