Gaisin Khasan Nazarovich (1908-1991)

My great-grandfather - Hero of the Soviet Union

was determined at the rank of sergeant in the 375th infantry regiment of the 219th division. In March 1942 he took the oath and was sent into the front in Voronezh region. On the Don river his regiment had taken part in defensive battles before February 1943. Khasan Gaisin participated in liberation fights in Voronezh-Kursk direction. As a result of the Red Army’s victories about 700 towns and villages were liberated from the enemy.
From July 1943 he was taking part in the battle of Kursk. Soon he was awarded with the order of Glory far his brave deeds in the face of the enemy.
In August 1944 Gaisin engaged in the armored troopers. He was a leader of the group which won the battle. His artillerymen opened a massive bombardment with captured guns and sustained the barrage for hours. K.Gaisin also participated in the liberation of Baltic region. On November 25, 1944 Khasan Gaisin earned the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star Medal for his bravery and heroic actions. It was the highest Soviet Award. But soon in one of the battles he was seriously injured and came back to his native place.

For his heroic actions and courage my great-grandfather got many awards

and rebuild our native land. He often took part in different school activities, met with children and shared his war stories with the young generation. He was a soldier whose courage was an example to follow and is still remembered. The museum in the village of Kinzyabyzovo of the Kuyurgazinsky district in Bashkortostan was opened to commemorate the heroes of our native place. I am proud that people like my great-grandfather lived in our country.
