This holiday is really a fun!
Слайд 6This holiday is called “Strawbower” or the festival of the Straw
Bear.
Слайд 7It is an old custom and celebrated in many countries of
the world:
in Great Britain,
Finland,
Germany.
Слайд 8 It is celebrated in January usually. It’s
very much alike Russian Maslenitsa, which we celebrate at the end of February or the beginning of March.
Слайд 9Here, in Russia, we celebrate Maslenitsa to say “Good bye” to
winter. We burn straw scarecrows of winter, sing songs, dance, eat pancakes. It’s a funny merry holiday!

straw goes from house to house and dance.
Слайд 11Plough Monday is the traditional start of the English agricultural year.
Plough Monday comes after the 12-th night.
