the major economic, scientific, cultural centers and ancient cities of our country. It is located on the great river Volga.
Kazan is the capital of a completely original people and multi-national republic that exists today between the Volga and Ural. This nation has its own language, culture, old traditions and festivals, their own faith, but its past is dramatic and sometimes fatally intertwined with the history and future of Russia. This nation - the Kazan Tatars, this country is - Tatarstan.

Kul Sharif mosque is one of the main mosques of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan (2005), located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin.
Construction of the temple was started in 1996 as a re-creation of the legendary mosque with many minarets of the capital of the Kazan Khanate, the center of religious education and the development of the sciences of the Middle Volga XVI century. The mosque was destroyed in October 1552 during the storming of Kazan by Ivan the Terrible. The opening of the mosque took place on 24 June 2005, to the 1000 anniversary of Kazan.

It is a historical, architectural and cultural monument, which combines Muslim and Orthodox, Tatar and Russian motives in its appearance. It is World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 2000. Governor's Palace in the Kremlin is the residence of the President of Tatarstan.
Museum-Reserve of the Kazan Kremlin is established by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan on 31 January in 1994.

in 2005. It consists of seven stations. It works from 6:00 to 23:00, total travel on the line is about 16 minutes, the interval of trains in rush hours is 6 minutes.

Kazan. The street begins near the Kazan Kremlin on Millennium Square and continues southeast to Tukai area where it crosses Pushkin Street.
Bauman street is a shopping and entertainment area, there are many shops, a lot of restaurants and fast food cafes, as well as monuments, fountains, benches, shelters, light poles and other elements of improvement. The street traditionally held mass festivities.

a leading theater of Kazan. The repertoire consists of opera and ballet productions including the world-famous performances and works of Tatar composers. There are new performances in the repertory twice a year- one opera and a ballet. By New Year holidays theater tries to make a festive setting for children.

important for the history of Kazan. One of them is the Lenin’s museum. Lenin was the leader of proletariat, revolutionary and the founder of Marxism and Leninism.
The house of Lenin Museum was opened in Kazan in 1937. The exposition of the museum contains of variety of materials, books, photographs, documents of the Ulyanov′ s family . The house itself consists of six rooms, all the rooms are like rooms where lived Ulyanov’s family.

One of the main museums is the museum of famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai. The museum itself is a two-storeyed house, which is a monument of architecture of XIX-XX centuries.
The museum exhibition includes major periods of the life and works of Gabdulla Tukai. It is photos, things, household items, books.

the largest racecourses in Europe. In 2005 a modern race track was opened for the anniversary celebration of Kazan on the place of the old airport. Different races for the prizes of the Russian and Tatarstan presidents and other competitions are arranged on the racetrack.

try Tatar food. Tatar cuisine is primarily the cuisine of the Volga Tatars, who live in Tatarstan, Russia, and surrounding areas. A wide variety of dough dishes is a feature of the traditional Tatar cuisine. Soups are very popular among Tatars. Particularly popular is noodle soup served with toqmaç (home made noodles) and enriched with pieces of boiled meat or chicken from the broth. Soups are often served with meat balls or stuffed buns (öçpoçmaq, pärämäç, bawırsaq).
The Tatar cuisine offers a variety of baked sweets, usually served with tea. Çäkçäk (chakchak, chak-chak, or chek-chek) is a mound of honey-drenched sweet pastry balls, common among all Turkic peoples. It used to be a ceremonial food brought by the bride to the reception at the bridegroom's home. Today it is a common sweet. Honey is very popular in baking and on its own, served with tea.

very proud that it was chosen as the capital of future Universiade Games. There are also a lot of places to see in Kazan and I hope that students of different countries will not regret that they have come to our republic. I am sure that in the nearly future our Kazan will take more important events as Olympic Games and others! Welcome to our Kazan!
