Just after the war ended, from mid 1784 Jefferson served as a diplomat, he became the Minister to France.
Declaration was the first official document in which the colonies were called "United States of America."
It was passed by Congress July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia, staff Pennsylvania. July 4 is celebrated in the U.S. as Independence Day.
John Adams died on July 4, 1826, his last words were "Thomas Jefferson still alive." In fact, Jefferson was already dead. He died the same day, a few hours earlier.
In 1752, Jefferson began to study at the local primary (местная начальная школа) school in the Scottish priest (священник) William Douglas and began studying Latin, Greek and French. In 1757 his father died, from whom Thomas inherited (унаследовал) about 5,000 acres of land and dozens of slaves (несколько десятков рабов). Soon on this land was built Monticello( усадьба Джефферсона).
Monticello was pictured on the back side of the 5-cent coin and two dollar bill.
