L. Frank Baum, was an American author of children's books, best known for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Lyman Frank Baum was born in Chittenango, New York. His father was the oil magnate Benjamin Ward Baum and mother Cynthia (Stanton) Baum, a women's rights activist.

Baum became a success with his 1883 production of "The Maid of Arran" in 1882.
In 1900, Baum and published The Wonderful Wizard of Oz to much critical acclaim and financial success. The book was the best-selling children's book for two years after its initial publication. Occupation: Author, newspaper editor, actor, screenwriter, film producer.

They go to their goal, to dream all their lives, go through all obstacles and don’t think about danger around them.

of Oz with her dog Toto by a cyclone. She meets a living Scarecrow, a Tin Woodman, and a Cowardly Lion while trying to get to the Emerald City hoping that the Great Oz can help her return home. He commands them to kill the Wicked Witch of the West, which they do, but when they return they discover that he is a humbug. Dorothy and her friends travel to Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, and finally she is able to help Dorothy to get home.

Their adventure begins when Dorothy finds Oz. First she can’t understand where she is and what she’ll do. Next she meets kind Scarecrow, which wants to get some brain, as people have.

own shadow. On their way to the
Wizard of Oz the friends pass
successfully many difficulties
and Dorothy get home.

aunt and uncle on the bleak Kansas prairie. She is energetic and delights in her dog Toto. After a whirling cyclone lands her house in Oz, she embarks on a journey to the Emerald City to ask the Wizard of Oz how to return to Kansas. Dorothy is sweet and simple and represents traditional and idealistic moral values. She lives in the present and does not trouble herself with much anxiety or worry. Throughout her journey, her goal is to return home despite the wonders and magic of Oz.

Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman in the forest. He claims to be a coward and wishes for the Wizard of Oz to give him courage. However, he proves himself courageous in many situations throughout the novel. Later he rules over all of the animals in the forest.

forest, the Tin Woodman desires a heart from the Wizard of Oz. He used to be a real man and was in love with a Munchkin girl, but due to the Wicked Witch of the East's evil machinations he lost his limbs and eventually became a man of tin without a heart. Despite his belief that he lacked emotion, he proves himself a kind and sensitive man. He is given the task of ruling over the Winkies at the end of the novel.

farmer's field, the Scarecrow's greatest wish is to procure brains for himself from the Wizard of Oz. Despite his perceived lack of brains, however, the Scarecrow is exceedingly intelligent and resourceful. At the end of the novel he becomes the ruler of Emerald City in the Wizard's absence.

Fairyland Oz is a dream of all people, but
Dorothy was very smart and she understood that the homeland the most expensive for everyone.

If in her place would be another girl, she would ask a bunch of sweets or toys and dolls, but Dorothy just wanted go home.
