is newly created university by merging three universities - Northern-Caucasian State Technical University, Stavropol State University and Pyatigorsk State University of Humanities and Technology.

(ten of which are located in Stavropol, and one – in Pyatigorsk), including 112 chairs are created:
humanitarian institute;
institute of mathematics and natural sciences;
institute of live systems;
legal institute;
economy and management institute;
institute of education and social sciences;
oil and gas institute;
institute of information technologies and telecommunications;
institute of construction, transport and mechanical engineering;
institute of power industry, electronics and nanotechnologies;
institute of service, tourism and design;
and also SKFU branch in the city of Nevinnomyssk.

Shiryaev Alexander Sergeyevich – the deputy of the State Duma of Stavropol Krai;

The scientific library of the North Caucasian later. federal university is one of the best in the Russian Federation and totals more than 2,5 million units of storage. The special place in it is taken by a unique collection of old printing books and the rare editions published in the XVII century and
