The cottage has been constructed in 1755 in village Grejt-Ajton by parents of captain James Cook, James and Grejs Cook .In1933 the woman who was the owner of the house, has decided to sell it with a condition that the building remains in England. As a result of negotiations she has agreed to sign the agreement in which the world has been replaced with a word , and the house has been sold to the Australian government which has offered ₤800 while the highest price offered by local buyers, was ₤800. The building has been disassembled on bricks and packed into 253 boxes and 40 flanks for transportation to Australia. Sharks of the ivy growing round the house have been cut off also, and they have been planted on a new place of construction of a building in Melbourne, Australia. Known Melbourne businessman Russell Grajmvdeev has financed all operation on purchase and carrying over of the house to Australia. He has presented a building to Victoria’s inhabitants to a centenary from the date of the basis of Melbourne in October, 1934. The cottage became at once sight of a city. In 1978 was spent cottage restoration. Round a building the garden in English style is broken. Among subjects making cottage conditions, very much the few belonged to a family Cook, but all furniture and subjects are a heritage of that epoch.
