Слайд 2Preamble
Marilyn Monroe was a real star in 1950s, and
she is a real legend now. No one modern advertising tool can help simple girl to reach such a popularity nowadays. She was idolized by men and women everywhere! Being a legend during her life and after her death, Monroe had spent short and difficult life. The symbol of America, millions men`s object of dreams, beautiful woman… She was envied by millions of women. Momentary ascent of this actress to the top of the glory seemed to be a miracle. But she was a tragic figure. She had problems in her private life. All the time she tried to prove to the directors, that she was able to do much more than just to show her beautiful body. It is unknown, what destiny Monroe would have, if the nature didn` t decorate her with a splendid body, a snow-white skin and a nice face. An angel charm had joined to a temptress`s seducement. Marilyn`s youth included an unsuccessful early marriage. She had a lot of invitations to advertising agencies. The fist Monroe`s husband was Joe DiMagio. The most desired woman in the world was the loneliest at the same time. A doorbell of a small fashionable villa in Beverly-Hills has been ringing for twenty minutes already. At last it opened. And woman`s voice asked roughly:

- What the hell do you want?
— I have flowers for…one
moment….for Norma Jean Becker. Friends are congratulating her with her birthday.
At last the door opened and the messenger was very surprised. He was looking at the most popular woman in the world. She was Marilyn Monroe in person. With paying no attention to his reaction she said loudly:
— There is no any Norma Jean Becker here. And she has no any friends too. And she had never had.
After these words she closed the door loudly, entered a big room, filled the glass with a whisky and told a mirror: «Happy birthday, Marilyn. Be happy».
Слайд 5Childhood
The real name of sex-symbol is Norma Jean Becker
Mortenson. She had a very rough childhood. There was a misery, mother`s hysterics. There was a poverty and her mother`s hysterics. Marilyn was violated by her stepfather at that time. When she was 8, Monroe had already been very lonely. However, she was given a wonderfull skin, a beautiful face, a miracle body and an angel charm by the nature. Norma Jean took her name after an actress Norma Tolmage. Marylin`s mother, Gladis Monroe Becker, was married with Martin Mortenson, but they did not live together. His paternity is a big question. But the girl was given his name..
Gladis was an assembler in a film studio and all her free time she was in a fun. She was too busy to bring up her daughter, that`s why she gave her newborn child to a strangers. She had been with the Bollenders, till she was 8.They took such children to earn money. Her family was good, but strict. Mother sometimes visited her, brought to a cinema and bought an ice cream.

In 1932 they finally were together. But her
mother had great depression after her grandfather`s death. So Monroe was all alone with her problems again. Gladis`s friend Grace Atckinson McKey sponsored the girl. She dreamt to make her a movie star. But there were no enough money to support Monroe, so she was given to an orphan's home. She had been there till 1937. Then she was returned home again. Her stepfather tried to violate her. She moved to her relatives and returned again. And then she finally left her home and met Jim Daggerty.
Слайд 8Husbands
We have information only about 3 Monroe`s husbands: Jim
Daggerty, Joe DiMagio and Arthur Miller. She was married with Jim Daggerty, when she was only 16. He was 20 and he worked in undertaker's office. Norma left school and they started to live together. A year later, Jim got a job in the merchant Navy, and Norma went on aviation plant. Later Jean left the factory and started to build a career as a model. In 1945 Jim asked Norma to choose: to work there or to be his wife. Jean decided to choose the first variant. Finally, the marriage lasted only four years. They had never met again. In January 1954 Marilyn Monroe married a baseball star Joe DiMagio. From the very beginning he did not like that she was making a show of her body. DiMagio was jealous and swift. This marriage lasted only 9 months. And after this, almost all her life Marilyn was maintained by her second husband. He organized her funeral. And all her life he pulled Marilyn out of the depression after the divorce with Arthur Miller. A few days after the suicide attempt, caused by the death of Johnny Hyde, Marilyn met Arthur Miller.

At that time a man had been married
and he had two children. They had not been together for 5 years and they met again only in 1955. They were meeting for a year in secret, and in the summer of 1956 were married. Later played a Jewish wedding, because the Millers were Jews. The marriage lasted for only four and a half years. The cause of the divorce was «the dissimilarity of the characters». There is a version that the actress was married to Robert Slatser for few days. According to the latter, they were married in Mexico, and then in Los Angeles Marilyn severed the marriage certificate. The pair agreed that their marriage was a joke. But Robert was a Monroe`s true friend for whole life. After her death for 10 years he personally was investigating the star`s death, and then another 10 years together with the private detective. The version of the murder was considered only after it.

Слайд 12Working
The first invitation to play in a movie came
in 1947, when the aspiring actress starred in one of the episodes of the film «Dangerous years». Later there were few small roles in the films "Skudda-Have! Skudda " Hey! " (1947), "Ladies of the corps de ballet" (1949), "Fireball" (1950) and others. Pretty young actress was liked by the public and the critics. Her performance in the film "All about eve" was great, where in a small episode she managed to give a wide palette of feelings and emotions. However, for the Directors Marilyn Monroe first of all was a beautiful, sexy woman, and no one of them who invited her to the shooting saw her as an actress. This explains the variety of films with her participation. You can judge about the content of the movies from their names: "Love nest (1951), "Let's get married" (1951), "We're not married" (1952), "You Can come in without knocking" (1952), "Gentlemen prefer blondes" (1953), "How to marry a millionaire" (1953) and others. Merlin becomes famous, her photos were out of print in million circulations, and the tiniest details of her personal life are regularly discussed on the pages of magazines and newspapers.

When, in 1956, a star found a new husband.
He was famous American writer Arthur Miller, the agiotage around the actress reached its climax.... She attends classes at the theatre Studio of Casana and Lee Strasberg, in her personal interviews she speaks about the desire to act in serious pictures and... again receives invitations to participate in the melodramas, comedies, playing the role of a seductive and stupid Babes ("There is No better business than the show-business", 1954; "Seven years after the wedding", 1955; "The Prince and the chorus girl", 1957). And despite the fact that many of the actors and Directors, among them the famous Lawrence Olivier (partner of M. M. in the film "the Prince and the chorus girl") celebrate her talent as a dramatic actress, nothing has changed in the life of Marilyn Monroe. For the audience - she's still the heroine of the popular film "Some like hotter", 1959 (in the Russian hire - "There are only girls in jazz"). Only once Merlin managed to go beyond the usual image - it was in her last movie, bearing a symbolic name of the "Misfits" (1961). Unfortunately, at the moment when the actress Marilyn Monroe was born, a woman, bearing that name, could live quite a bit...

Thinking of age, the divorce with Arthur Miller (1961),
discontent with work systematically led actress to a depression. She tried to stop it abusing of alcohol, drugs and sleeping pills. Although nobody has disproved the official statement of the "suicide", the death of Marilyn Monroe causes a lot of disputes till this day. And the theory of a murder for political reasons, (there were rumors about the relations of the Merlin with Senator Robert Kennedy in a press) also has the right to exist. The only man among the relatives, who conducted the actress in the last path, was her second husband, Joe DiMagio. It was a great agiotage when in 1956 Marilyn married American writer Arthur Miller.

Слайд 19Children
Marilyn dreamed about the children. But the dream
of glory wiped out this fantasy. The Monroe had health problems - 30 abortion had left a trace in her organizm. Marilyn had done her first abortions consciously, and then she had miscarriages. One day, Marilyn told her friend Amy Greene that when she was 15 years Monroe gave a birth to a child, which she left in the orphanage. But the reliability of this information is not confirmed. A certain Joseph f. Kennedy appeared in new York in 2000. He called himself the son of John Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. He demanded the return of all star`s property. He said that he could not come immediately after the death of the «mother», as he was abducted by the unknown. He does not remember his childhood, because he lost his memory after a car accident.
Слайд 20Conclusion
Even after the death Marilyn Monroe continued to attract
attention to herself. In America and in Europe there were published a great number of books and articles, which were an attempt to understand the phenomenon of M. M. There were released a lot of films to the screens, dedicated to her creative work: "Merilin" (1963), "Good-bye Norma Jean! " (1976), "Merilin: the untold story" (1980), "The Last days of Marilyn Monroe" (1985), "Marilyn Monroe: the story behind the legend" (1987). The authors of these tapes tried to delve deeper into the soul of a woman, that left our life being misunderstood... And the fact that after more than three tens of years that have passed after her death, the memory about her is still alive, proves that Marilyn Monroe was much more important phenomenon than just a beautiful and sexy blonde in the history of world cinema.
Слайд 21Conclusion
"One, two, three, four... is that enough? Although, more
- not less. Five, six, seven, " Marilyn finished counting the pills out of jars. Now she had only one question: is it true that in one minute to the moment when it`ll be all over, everyone can look through their whole life?Woman drifted away from the table, where her closest friends were lieing. Tranquilizers never betrayed her hopes. She opened another bottle of champagne. Even if a number of uncapped bottles stood on the table, she would still open a new one. Because she needed only fresh champagne. Perhaps, the only joy that she could afford.
