in the village of Seliksa of the Penza region. From the first seconds of the war the lieutenant was the chief of the 9th frontier post of the 17th Krasnoznamennyy boundary district.

Кижеватов Андрей Митрофанович родился 18 августа 1907 года в селе Селикса Пензенской области. С первых секунд войны являлся начальником 9-й пограничной заставы 17-го Краснознаменного пограничного округа, лейтенант.

headed defense of an outpost and the first time was wounded, on June 23 passed into the Brest fortress.
He was the courageous and resolute person, he always was in the forefront attacking, inspired companions, installed belief in a victory. Several times wounded, he didn't fail. The survived fighters remember words of their commander: "Here my outpost, and I am its commander. From here I won't leave anywhere". He was lost on the 29th of June in 1941.

22 июня, в первый день войны, он возглавил оборону заставы и был первый раз ранен, 23 июня перешёл в Брестскую крепость.
Был смелым и решительным человеком, он всегда был в первых рядах атакующих, воодушевлял товарищей, вселял веру в победу. Несколько раз раненный, он не выходил из строя. Оставшиеся в живых бойцы помнят слова своего командира: "Здесь моя застава, и я ее командир. Отсюда я никуда не уйду". Погиб 29 июня 1941 года.

and three children. The daughter, fourteen-year-old Nyura, was in the ranks of battling too. In autumn of 1942 near the village of Velikorita of the Brest region all his family was shot.
On the 6th of May in 1965 the lieutenant Kizhevatov A.M. was given a title of the Soviet Union Hero posthumously. Penza also remembers and is proud of the hero, the street of our city was called by his name.

Вместе с Кижеватовым в крепос- ти находилась его семья:  мать, жена и трое детей. Дочь, четыр- надцатилетняя Нюра, тоже была в рядах сражающихся. Осенью 1942 года неподалеку от села Ве- ликорита Брестской области вся его семья была расстреляна.
6 мая 1965 года лейтенанту
Кижеватову А.М. было присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза посмертно. Пенза также помнит и гордится своим героем, его име- нем названа улица нашего города.

Ломов Пензенской области. В боях Великой Отечественной войны с июня 1941 года. Флагманский артиллерист бригады сторожевых кораблей военно-морской базы Тихоокеанского флота, капитан 3-го ранга, сражался под Одессой, в Севастополе и Новороссийске. За мужество и героизм 14 сентября 1945 г. присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза.

Ternovsky Georgy Vladimirovich was born on the 10th of April in 1915 in the city of Nizhny Lomov of the Penza region. He was in fights of the Great Patriotic War since June, 1941. The flagman gunner of the crew of patrol ships in the naval base of the Pacific fleet, the captain of the 3rd rank, battled near Odessa, in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk. For courage and heroism he was given a title of the Soviet Union Hero on the 14th of September in 1945.

He was one of the first who used Katyusha rocket launchers on torpedo boats. In post-war time he worked as the military historian. He conducted big military patriotic work among the young and school students. He died on the 20th of July in 1970. Ternovsky is the honourable citizen of Penza. The street and technical lyceum were called in honour of Ternovsky G.V.

The monument is located near the factory "Penzmash" in memory of that here in a few weeks began production of guns, which is all the more frightened of the Nazis.

Этот памятник поставлен недавно и посвящен он людям, героически принявшим блокаду и не сломившимся перед врагом.
