There are many kinds of sports. But the majority of them were invented in England.
Actually the United Kingdom has given birth to association football, rugby, cricket, darts, golf, tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, boxing, billiards and curling.

To support or to negative the hypothesis that one or another kind of sport is closely connected with the climate of the country, its geographical position, history and traditions.

The domination of such summer sports as cricket, golf, rugby and tennis in England is related to the mild English climate, a lot of open play-fields, it’s also a tribute to the history and traditions.
The prevalence of winter sports in Russia (hockey, skiing, skating) can be explained by severe weather conditions, nature and traditions.
However, tennis is popular in both countries.
Thus, my hypothesis concerning the connection between popular sports and the nature, climate and traditions of the country is true.
