thistle. A thistle is a plant. It’s very beautiful but it’s very sharp too. An ancient story says that enemies from across the sea wanted to take the Scots by surprise in their sleep. They took off their shoes not to make noise but one of them stepped on a thistle and cried of a sharp pain. The Scots awoke and won the battle.
We’d like to tell you another symbol of Scotland. It’s a thistle. A thistle is a plant.
