It is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral belonging to the Diocese of St. Petersburg, located on Transfiguration Square.

The Church of the Savior on Blood is one of the main sights of St. Petersburg. This Church was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated and was dedicated in his memory.
