Some people criticize English food. They say it’s boring, tasteless, its chips with everything and totally overcooked vegetables.

If you ask any man to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say pudding, roast beef, Shepherd’s pie and “Fish and chips”

It became popular in the 1860’s when railways began to bring fresh fish straight from the east coast.

Traditionally, the dish is covered with salt and vinegar. It is eaten with fingers out of paper which it is wrapped in.

Roast beef is a traditional component

of Sunday lunch while typical breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausages, toasts, mushrooms and baked beans.

There are hundreds of variations of sweet puddings, but each pudding begins with the same ingredients. This course is an integral part of any celebration: Christmas, wedding or family party.

In most cities in Britain you’ll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian restaurants.
