This clock came into service in 1859 and was

nick-named “Big Ben”.
Big Ben is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weighs 13,5 tons. The clock bell was called Big Ben after Sir Benjamin Hall, who was in charge of that construction.

St Paul’s Cathedral is a masterpiece of Sir Christopher

Wren. It stands on the same place where in 604 AD a wooden cathedral was built.
Then it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt a number of times in different styles. But the Great Fire of 1666 completely destroyed the cathedral.
The construction of the present cathedral was started in 1675 and finished in 1710.
It is one of the largest cathedrals of the world, the second in size after St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome.
