computer programs , device drivers, kernels and other software that let people interact with a computer. It manages computer hardware and software resources. An OS can be small like Menuet OS or large like like Microsoft Windows. Different OS can be used for different purposes . Some are used for everyday things, like a personal computer, others are used for specialized work. An OS has many jobs . It makes sure that all programs can use the CPU, system memory, displays, input and output devices and other hardware. Some also give the user an interface to use a computer . An OS is also responsible for sending data to other computers or devices on a network. Some examples of commonl;y used OS are MAC OS , Linux and Microsoft Windows/

device is a thing, made or adapted for a particular purpose, especially a piece of mechanical or electronic equipment.
Most of devices are peripheral- they are used to put information into or get information out of the computer
There are 3 different types of peripherals:
-input: used to interact with or send data to the computer(mouse, keyboard, etc.)
-output :which provides output to the user from the computer (monitor, printer , etc.)
-storage: which stores data processed by the computer( hard drivers, flash drivers, etc.)
