Слайд 3Nominal Peter’s I decree of 28th February, 1714 provided making elementary
schools in provinces. The name of new educational institutions was explained by paying attention to arithmetic and «some part of the geometry» for the first time.
Слайд 4What is interesting, British didn’t know Russian language and teach with
Latin which was the first thing that pupils had to learn.
Слайд 5In the 1716 noble children were already free from compulsory educating
in elementary schools, in the 1720 – citizens.
Слайд 6Not very large group of pupils from elementary schools was made
by children of soldiers with «prior ranks» - archeries, Cossacks, gunners who could became the war writers in regiments later.
Слайд 7How many people have gone through the Voronezh elementary school? 197
pupils were sent in it since 1716 for 1726.
Слайд 8Only 58 were taught, and 12 were let go because of
«not-understanding sciences», 20 escaped or didn’t absent. Other 104 citizens and church people have left because of withdrawal of these children categories from among pupils of elementary schools.
Слайд 9The elementary and garrison schools which were officially founded in 1732
merger had started.
Слайд 11By the nominal decree of 21th September, 1732 the schools for
teaching soldiers’ children in garrison regiments were founded for «giving favor and relief to the nation from recruits». It was forbidden to take soldiers’ children for enrollment to the provincial and military chancelleries «to land cases» therefore it was «need for writers in regiments».
Слайд 12Garrison schools were founded in Voronezh, Belgorod, St Anna’s fortress, Pavlovsk
(was mentioned there in the 1741). They were located in introduction of the War college.
Слайд 14Educational program in garrison schools was like that: pupils should have
been trained to the service in ranks, literacy, arithmetic, music, playing on drums and flutes by separating these sciences on hours seemly.
Слайд 15Pupil’s uniform included caftan, sheepskin fur coat, red cloth hat, tie,
two by one pants and shirts, two pairs of shoes with buckles and as many wooden stocking.
Слайд 16. By the Voronezh’s plan of 1768, it located at the
intersection of modern streets Sakko and Vantsetti and Smolenskaya (now there is a house №72).
Слайд 17In the second half of the XVIII century the number of
pupils in Rassian garrison schools was continuously growing. In the 1756 6000 people were studying in them, in the 1765 – 9000, by the end of Ekaterina’s II reign – about 12000. In the 1798 garrison schools were renamed to the military-orphan offices. «Short statistic description of Voronezh province» of the 1820 reported that in the same institution in Voronezh 1300 soldiers’ children were studying and there was a drawing class.
