cultural center. It's one of the largest cities in the world. Its population is more than 11 million people. London is situated on the river Thames. The city is very old and beautiful. It was founded more than two thousand years ago.

St. James’s park is the oldest of Royal
Parks. It appeared in the XVI century. It was a place for hunting of king Henry 8. Today St James’s Park is one of the favourite places of Londoners and visitors of the city. It is open for visitors from 5 a.m. until midnight. Here you can rent a chair and listen to the orchestra, rest with the children on one of the playgrounds or have a picnic. Even members of the Royal family often come here.

Green Park is one of the Royal Parks in
London. Green Park is the smallest of the eight Royal Parks and is one of the busiest. It is peaceful, with trees and grassland. It was a popular place for ballooning attempts and public firework during the 18th and 19th centuries. Green Park is now an attractive place and all year round visitors can enjoy seeing common birds such as blackbird, starling. In the winter migrant birds are often seen there. The park is popular for sunbathing and picnics in fine weather. It is also popular as a healthy walking route. The paths are used by joggers and runners.

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in
central London, United Kingdom, and one of the Royal Parks of London. Hyde Park in London has something for everyone. You can enjoy swimming, boating, cycling and skating. There are pitches for team games, tennis courts, tracks for horse riding and children’s playgrounds. Hyde Park is famous for its Speaker’s Corner. It is an area where public speaking is allowed. Everybody can speak on any theme. The police control the speakers.

Kensington Gardens were the private gardens of Kensington Palace. And
now it is one of the Royal Parks of London. The history of Kensington Gardens started in 1689, when King William III and Mary II bought the Nottingham house in Kensington. The house was turned into a palace.
The most famous attraction in Kensington Gardens is a bronze statue of Peter Pan. This statue was placed in Kensington Gardens in 1912. In this bronze statue, Peter Pan is standing on a tree trunk watched by animals of the English countryside: rabbits, mice and squirrels. As the Peter Pan statue is not too high, and there are no barriers, children love to climb up the statue and have their photo taken.

Like all the other Royal parks, Greenwich Park was
once the hunting grounds of monarchs. It is located in the South-East of London and is famous for the fact that there is a zero Meridian, which are counted all the time zones in the world.
Once on the site of a modern Greenwich Park was a forest owned by the Church. In 1427, Henry VI gave 80 hectares of land to the Duke of Gloucester, who built there a mansion Bella Court.
In 1675 in Greenwich Park the Royal Observatory was founded according to the project Christopher Wren.
Today Greenwich Park attracts visitors with many interesting attractions and monuments, and also the opportunity to relax in the shade of the trees and walk through the green lanes of the ancient, well-tended Park.

the Park. Here it is the Prime Meridian which divides the Earth into two parts. The entrance is paid, but the visitor can be in two hemispheres at the same time!

Regent's Park is one of the Royal Parks of London.
It is in the northern central London. Regent's Park is the largest grass area for sports in Central London and offers different activities, as well as an Open Air Theatre, London Zoo and many cafes and restaurants. The Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park is the only professional, outdoor theatre in Britain. It is in the heart of the park. You can enjoy performances from May to September.

London attractions. It is situated in Regent’s Park and was opened in 1828 by the Zoological Society of London.
London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo.
London Zoo has almost 750 species of animals, from the smallest monkey to the tall giraffe. Over 12,000 animals live in the Zoo today, many of them are rare and endangered.
Visitors can find out facts about the animals, including where they live, what they eat .

Kew Gardens were founded in 1759 in Kew Park, Lord of Tewkesbury.
Kew Gardens include the Palm House, the Temperate House, the Orangery, the Chinese Pagoda, Queen Charlotte's Cottage, Kew Palace, the Marianne North Gallery , the Minka House, Sackler Crossing , The Shirley Sherwood Gallery.
The gardens have an outstanding living collection of plants and a world-class herbarium.
