Слайд 3I've decided to make a presentation about it because I find
it interesting to know more about America and its attractions, moreover one of my biggest dream is to visit this country one day.
Слайд 4There are many beautiful cities there such as New York City,
San Francisco, Washington (it's a capital of the country), San Diego, Miami Beach, Boston and others. But I’d like to tell you about Los Angeles also known as L.A.
Слайд 5Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world,
and for good reason. The movies, television shows and music produced in the City of Angels are enjoyed all over the globe. While the city’s show-business history and the chance to rub elbows with a celebrity draws many visitors to L.A., the area’s beaches, theme parks and year-round sunny weather are also big attractions.
A world-class collection of museums, arenas and theaters means that art lovers, history buffs and sports fans will find plenty to love about the tourist attractions in Los Angeles as well.
Слайд 6From the palm-lined ocean avenues to Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles impresses
visitors. Get a look at how films are made at one of the movie studios, If you are in LA in late February or early March, you might even see all the movie stars in one place on Oscar night.
Слайд 7Now it's time to talk about its attractions
1) Hollywood.
2) Theme parks
Plan of our journey around L.A.
3) Museums
4) Beaches
and parks.
Слайд 8Hollywood sign.
Originally erected to advertise real estate in the Hollywood Hills,
the Hollywood sign has come to represent the glamour and excitement of the movie industry. Virtually every visitor to Los Angeles wants to snap a picture of the iconic Hollywood sign, but getting a close-up shot isn’t easy. Nowadays, the 45-foot (14-meter) high letters perched on Mount Lee are blocked off by barriers and protected by a security system.
Слайд 9Some Fun Facts About the Hollywood Sign.
1) The Hollywood Sign is
almost 90 years old.
The original Hollywood sign was constructed in 1923. Though it wasn't originally meant to be an icon for the film industry.
Слайд 102) The first sign didn’t say “Hollywood.”
To advertise the Hollywoodland development,
the sign was composed of 13 letters that spelled out the development’s name: “HOLLYWOODLAND.” The last four letters of the sign wouldn’t be dropped until 1949.
3) An Englishman designed the Hollywood sign.
Thomas Fisk Goff, the artist who created the Hollywood sign, was born in London in 1890.
4) The sign was a very expensive billboard.
Considering that the original Hollywoodland sign was only intended to be an advertisement for a real estate development, it was quite expensive.
Слайд 11Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Walk of Fame comprises more than
2,600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others.

Слайд 16Griffith Park
It’s easy to forget you’re still in the city as
you trek through the mix of native chaparral and landscaped paths that covers this rugged park. But take one look out from the iconic Griffith Observatory and you’ll find yourself face-to-face with the L.A. Basin as it stretches out to the ocean. Griffith’s myriad attractions and wilderness caters to all types: intrepid hikers can explore the Bronson Caves and visit Amir’s Garden; easygoing weekenders can relax in the shaded, verdant passage through Fern Dell or the picnic tables at Crystal Springs; kid-toting visitors can board the steamers at Travel Town or explore the archaic cages at the Old Zoo; and pop culture lovers can catch a show at the Greek Theatre or visit Walt’s Barn.
Слайд 17Kenneth Hahn Park
Griffith may get all of the attention, but Kenneth
Hahn is impressive in both size and topography for a park in the middle of the Westside. On top of the usual list of amenities, the Culver City park contains a lotus pond, fishing lake and sand volleyball court. But the urban oasis really establishes itself with over seven miles of walking and hiking trails through the Baldwin Hills, with views of almost every corner of the L.A. Basin—from the South Bay and the Pacific Ocean to Downtown and the San Gabriel Mountains.

Слайд 23If I had a chance I'd definitely visit this city. So
I hope It'll happen one day and I'll see it with my own eyes.
