(Russian: Зимняя Универсиада 2019) will be an international student and youth competition, which is scheduled to take place from 2–12 March 2019 in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk.

The first Winter Universiade in Russia will take place in 2019 in Krasnoyarsk – the geographical center of Siberia.
Russia is the biggest country in the world by area, with long and severe winters.
Russia is associated by foreigners with "frost" and "winter".

Another slogan is "100% Winter", which is used together with any of the slogans or independently.
The slogan "Welcome to Winter!" is also used.

2019 is "U-Laika", a Siberian dog of the Laika breed, the symbol of loyalty, friendliness, joy and unbridled energy.
Laika is a friend always ready to help in hard times and support in striving to the most trying goal.

THE MASCOT OF THE UNIVERSIADE

Universiade, or the VII Summer Universiade, took place in Moscow, the USSR.
There were events in ten sports.
4000 athletes took part in the competitions.
Our sportsmen won 68 gold medals, 36 silver medals and 30 bronze medals in the Universiade.

the XXVII Summer Universiade, was held in the city of Kazan, the most northerly city ever to host a Summer Universiade.
Over 10,400 university athletes from 162 countries participated in 13 mandatory and 14 optional sports.
The 2013 Universiade was the biggest in the history of the event.

The venue began full operation in 2011. It Includes a sports complex with a hotel, shooting area with 30 targets and 12 km of ski tracks. Its simultaneous operating capacity is 106 people.

The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships have been held in various numbers and types of events since 1925 for men and since 1954 for women.
From 1924 to 1939, the World Championships were held every year.
After World War II, the World Championships were held every four years from 1950 to 1982.
Since 1985, the World Championships have been held in odd-numbered years.

Its capacity is up to 7,000 people.
