Слайд 1 Internet addiction
is the problem of modern
society
Слайд 2The purpose of the project:
To define the presence of the problem
of Internet addiction among the students of our school.
The objectives of the project:
To familiarize the students of our school with the problem of the modern society, Internet addiction.
To conduct a social survey of the Internet addiction of the students of our school.
To offer solutions to this problem.
Слайд 3I have chosen this topic because this problem is actual among
teenagers nowadays. Any kind of children’s dependence appears very quickly, including dependence on television, Internet and computer games. So the problem of Internet addiction is as urgent as other social problems of youth.
Слайд 4Of course, it is very difficult to imagine our life without
computers nowadays. Computers are used in offices, at enterprises, in the service sector and at home. The experts claim that the huge part of the Internet addictive people (91%) use different social networks. And the rest of them are attracted by the informative networks.
Слайд 5 When are people net addicted? Such addiction is manifested in
the fact that people, especially teenagers, prefer life in the Internet that they actually begin to refuse their real life, spending up to 20 hours a day in the virtual reality. Another definition of Internet addiction is the desire to connect to the Internet all the time and painful inability to disconnect from the Internet.
Слайд 6
There are 4 symptoms of the
Internet addiction:
*The constant expectation of
the next access to the Internet.
*The obsessive desire to check the e-mail.
*Complaints of the surroundings that the person spends too much time in the Internet.
*Complaints of the surroundings that the person spends too much money on the Internet.
Слайд 7Social survey.
The survey was conducted among the students of the 5
to 9 grades of our Gymnasium to determine their dependence on the Internet. I`d like to represent the following issues of my social survey.
*How much time per day do you spend оn the Internet sites?
a) Less than 2 hours.
b) From 2 to 4 hours.
c) More than 4 hours.
*How long can you exist without the Net?
a) Not more than a day.
b) From 2 till 7 days.
c) More than 7 days.
*Do you consider yourself addicted to the Net?
a) Yes
b) No
c) Difficult to answer
Слайд 8As the result the following information was obtained
Слайд 10Although the students deny their addiction to the Net, in reality
they spend too much time in it and you could see it on the first two slides.
Слайд 11If there is a problem, there must be a solution.
What
is the solution?
How to overcome the dependence?
Слайд 12You will need the help of your relatives to get rid
of the Internet addiction. Let them change the passwords to all of your regular resources, giving a limited access once a week, for example. Some time later you will realize that nothing has changed in the Net.
Слайд 13
The most obvious solution is to limit the amount of time
spent at the computer without interruption. It is recommended to take a short break after every 30 minutes.
Слайд 14A journey to the place where there is no access to
the Internet at all. A couple of days is enough. So you can switch your attention to other interests and understand the beauty of life.
Слайд 15 Explain to the Internet addictive people to exchange the aimless
use of the Net and search for the essential and required information.
Слайд 16I can say that in the treatment of Internet addiction the
main thing is to prove a person that live communication is much more attractive than a virtual communication
Слайд 17I think that the only checked method of prevention of computer
addiction in the childhood is a hobby activity that is associated with usual computer use, so it does not become a substitute for real life.
So, I suppose pulling teenagers from the Network and involving them into other interesting activities is a solvable problem.
