The Judicial Branch of the government is made up of judges and courts.
The American court system is complex.
The courts of the USA are separated into two separate jurisdictions serving to Federal government and state government .
The Federal courts are organized in three levels, like a pyramid.
At the top is the US Supreme Court .
The Supreme Court consists of 9 Judges.

In the middle are
the USA courts of Appeals. They review cases that have been decided in the inferior courts.
At the bottom of the pyramid are the inferior courts, where litigation begins.
