The University of Vienna is a public university located in Vienna, Austria. Home to more than 94,000 students,it is one of the oldest universities in the German-speaking world.

In Latin the name of the University sounds
like "Alma mater Rudolphina" in honor of its founder, Duke Rudolph IV.
At the end of the eighteenth century the University was reformed by Maria Teresa , who finally changed the direction of education. The focus of research was to the Sciences. From 1970s free access to the education gave a powerful impulse for the growth of the University.

Schrödinger
is the physicist-theorist, the founder of quantum mechanics, originator of the famous paradox of Schrodinger's cat, winner of the Nobel prize in physics in 1933.
