Рождественская песня «Jingle Bells» была
написана в 1857-м году американским композитором Джеймсом Лордом Пьерпонтом. Называлась она «One Horse Open Sleigh» (Открытые сани, запряжённые лошадью) и мелодия её была сложнее. С тех пор мелодия, а также текст были немного изменены.
Самое интересное, что песня, ставшая ныне символом Рождества, была написана ко дню Благодарения (в США празднуется в четвёртый четверг ноября).
