Слайд 9 A Definition of Bullying
It is usually defined as repeated
behavior
which is intended
to hurt someone
either emotionally or physically,
and is often aimed at certain people
because of their race,
religion, gender or any other
aspect such as appearance or disability.

Bullying can take many forms including:

Forms of bulling:
Bullying can take many forms including:
making silent or
abusive phone calls
sending you offensive phone texts
bullying via text or online
posting or spreading insulting messages
or rumours, in person, on the Internet or
by IM (cyber bullying)
Слайд 13
Bullying can happen anywhere:
at school
travelling to and from
school
in sporting teams
between neighbours
in the workplace.
Слайд 14What is cyber bulling?
Cyber bullying is bullying through a mobile
phone or online (e.g. by email, instant
Messenger (IM) or on social network sites). Cyber bullying is just as serious.
Слайд 15
People bully others about perceived differences:
appearance
religion
behaviour
disabilities
illness
family
how well you
are doing at school
how popular you are.
Слайд 16
There are many reasons children and young people may
get involved in bullying, such as:
feeling powerless
low self-esteem
trying to get admiration and attention from friends
fear of being left out if they don’t join in
not understanding how someone else is feeling
taking out their angry feelings
a culture of aggression and bullying
being bullied themselves.
Слайд 17How to Deal
With Bullying
at School?
Слайд 18How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
The thing is how you
deal with bulling
makes the difference between
a tolerable life or a misery.
It is always best to try and (ignore) dismiss
bullying remarks.
If a bully sees that they can upset you
then they will keep trying.
Слайд 19How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
1) If you are bullied
at school,
tell as many people as you can:
a friend
a teacher
your parents.
Слайд 20How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
2) It won’t stop unless
you do. Sometimes just having things out in the open can be enough to make bullies stop.
Слайд 21How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
3) It can be hard
to do this in person, so you may write a note to your parents explaining how you feel.
Слайд 22How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
4) Perhaps, you may confide
in someone outside the immediate family and ask them to help you tell your parents what’s going on. A person may be
a grandparent
aunt
uncle
cousin
Слайд 23How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
5) Your form tutor needs
to know what is going on so try to find a time to tell him or her when it won’t be noticeable. You could stay behind on the pretext of needing help with some work.
Слайд 24How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
6) If it’s at school,
any of your teachers should be able to help (your school should have an anti-bullying policy)
Слайд 25How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
7) You can speak to
the school nurse.
Слайд 26How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
8) Don’t be tempted to
respond to any bullying or hit back because you could get hurt or get into trouble.
Слайд 27How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
9) If you’re being bullied
through texts or phone calls, save messages and call records if you have space in your phone. If not, write down the time of the call/text, what was said/written and the caller/sender’s number if you have it.
Слайд 28How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
10) Don’t reply to any
texts
– it’s just what the bully wants.
Слайд 29How to Deal
With Bullying at School?
11)If you’re being bullied online,
don’t respond to nasty comments. But as before, keep a record of everything you get sent by screenshotting or saving the messages.
Слайд 3012)Body language tells us a lot about other people. If
you step out boldly you send out a message of confidence. You may not be very confident but you’ll certainly look it.

13)Try to stay in safe
areas of the school at break and lunchtime where there are plenty of other people.
Слайд 32How to Deal

14)If you are hurt at
school, tell a teacher immediately and ask for it to be written down. Make sure you tell your parents.

15)If you need, you may
go to see your doctor.
Many doctors are very sympathetic about the effects of bullying and yours may be able to write a note for the school explaining the effect that bullying is having on your health.

Слайд 36The signs Признаки
Do you pick on anyone or push them
around?
Do you tease someone regularly – in person or online?
Or are you part of a group where this happens?
Is it possible that someone has felt bullied by you or your friends?
Слайд 37«But it’s just harmless teasing!»
you may say.
It’s not.
Слайд 38Bullying ruins
people’s lives.
Nearly half of suicides
of
young people
are the result of bullying.
Many others miss out
on education because they can’t concentrate or they bunk off to keep away from the bullies.
The effects of bulling:
Слайд 39The effects of bulling:
Even for those who survive bullying, the effects
on their self-esteem, confidence and relationships with others can last for years.
And don’t think that taking the mick of someone online makes it any better – virtual violence on social networking sites is just as harmful. How you behave online is an extension of how you behave in normal life.
Слайд 40The effects of bulling:
There is no excuse for picking on someone
in social media because it’s not ‘real life’.
It is!
Слайд 41What to do
if you are
a bully
but you
don't
want
to be him?
Слайд 42What to do if you are a bully
but you don't
want to be him?
People can change.
You are in control of
who you want to be.
Ask yourself
why you feel the need
to pick on people.
Слайд 43Why do I bully?
Is it because someone does it to you,
or has done in the past and you’re angry about that?
Слайд 44Why do I bully?
Do you make someone else look small
so you can feel better about yourself?
Слайд 45Why do I bully?
Are you scared you’ll be the one
getting bullied if you’re not the one dishing it out?
Слайд 46What should I do?
Have a good think to try and work
out what makes you behave like this – then work to solve that problem.
Слайд 47 You’ll feel much better if you deal with your issues
rather than taking it out on other people and will ultimately be a much nicer person to be around.
What should I do?
Слайд 48Conclusion
It’s not you, it’s them!
Don’t let it happen!
Слайд 49Conclusion
It’s not you, it’s them!
Although it’s hard to
feel sorry for bullies, it might help to understand that happy people don’t need to make others feel unhappy or small. It’s the bullies who have a problem, not the people they target. You really aren’t on your own – unfortunately, bullying is common. People get through it, and so will you. But it’s got to stop.
Слайд 50Conclusion
Don’t let it happen!
Watching and doing nothing
while someone gets bullied supports bullying. Have the courage to speak out and get help if you see it happening – it needs to be stopped.
Слайд 51IDENTITY – THE BULLY
They all try
to look the same
all try to give themselves a name
pick on the boy who is all alone
just because his identity is his own
what has this world come to?
all this wrong that people do
just for the image they want to show
down the evil path they seem to go
The next person you go to hurt
or try to make feel like dirt
instead of trying to look cool
feel for the guy you make look a fool
A cool identity isn’t a need
let those you bully be freed
Your identity should be your own
A better person you will be known.
