Слайд 3The USA is a large country. It is washed by the
Atlantic Ocean in the east and by the Pacific Ocean in the west. It stretches from Canada in the north to Mexico in the south. It is the fourth largest nation in the world.

Independence it freed itself from British sovereignty. At that time it consisted of 13 states. Now the USA has 50 states.
Слайд 5The national flag of the USA was adopted on June 14,
1777. There was one star and one stripe for every 13 states. The 13 stripes represent the original thirteen states. There are now 50 stars on the American flag, one for each state.
Слайд 6The National Motto ‘’ In God We Trust ‘’ first appeared
on US coins in 1864, when it was written on a 2- cent piece. On July 30, 1956, it became the national motto.

a ribbon in its mouth bearing the device E pluribus unum (One out of many ). In its talons are the arrows of war and an olive branch of peace.

born on February 22, 1732 in Virginia.. In 1789 he was elected President. He was called “The Father of the Nation.” Washington’s monument stands at the national capital which bears his name.
