usually have breakfast at 8 o'clock. — Я обычно завтракаю в 8 часов. I cook twice a week. — Я готовлю два раза в неделю.
2. Постоянные состояния, факты, которые всегда верны: The sun rises in the east. — Солнце встает на востоке. We live in the centre of Moscow. — Мы живем в центре Москвы. I never read any poetry. — Я никогда не читаю стихи.

John isn't working at the moment, he's having lunch.
В данный момент Джон не работает, он обедает.
2. действие, происходящее в данный период (но не обязательно в момент речи) I'm reading 'The Client' by John Grisham.
Я читаю "Клиент" Джона Гришэма. (при этом, возможно, в данный момент я занимаюсь чем-то другим, но на этой неделе читаю я именно эту книгу)
3. действие, которое носит временный характер:
What hotel are you staying at?
В какой гостинице Вы живете (остановились)?

когда — Present Continuous: Сравнение употребления Present Simple и Present Continuous

играть, сидеть...) Поэтому с глаголами, обозначающими чувства и умственное восприятие используется времена Simple.
Вот эти слова (они употребляются в Simple):

(Simple)               The have a big bath in the bathroom.  (Simple: У них (имеется) большая ванна в ванной комнате.) !Но:  have в выражениях, обозначающих физическое действие и проходящих в момент речи, употребляется в Continuous:               She can't come to the phone. She is having a bath. (Continuous: Она принимает ванную - физическое действие, происходящее в этот момент!)               What are they doing? - They are having dinner.   (Continuous: Они сейчас обедают.)

think it's a good idea. (Simple: Я думаю (считаю), это хорошая идея.)              I don't think you should do this. (Simple: Я считаю (выражаю свое мнение), что тебе не стоит это делать.) !Но: think (в значении "думать о ком-то, чем-то" употребляется в Continuous):              What are you thinking about? (Continuous: О чем ты думаешь?)               I'm thinking about you. (Continuous: Я думаю тебе.)              I don't understand what you mean. - Я не понимаю, что ты имеешь в виду. This house belongs to them. - Этот дом принадлежит им. He doesn't like big cities. - Он не любит большие города. I want to go with you. - Я хочу пойти с тобой.

I (to read) now.   He (to sleep) now.   We (to drink) tea now.  They (to go) to school now.  I (not to sleep) now. She (not to drink) coffee now. I (to read) every day. He (to sleep) every night. Present Simple.

My father (not to sleep) now. He (to work) in the garden. 9. I usually (to get) up at seven o'clock in the morning. 10. What your sis­ter (to do) now? - - She (to wash) her face and hands. 11.
