population of Yanicoy nowadays is 4670.A lot of wonderful people live here. The first Hero of Soviet Union in Kabardino- Balkaria Alim Baisultanov was born in Yanicoy. He died as a hero in the fighting for Leningrad in1943 and was buried in the cold waters of Baltic sea.The school you are visiting has the name of our famous hero.
