of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
On the left, the shield is supported by the English Lion.
On the right it is supported by the Unicorn of Scotland. (The unicorn is chained because in mediaeval times a free unicorn was considered a very dangerous beast (only a virgin could tame a unicorn)The coat features both the motto of British Monarchs:
Dieu et mon droit (God and my right)
and the motto of the Order of the Garter:
on a representation of the Garter behind the shield.

Слайд 4About the Flag and the Emblem
The function of the Royal

Coat of Arms is to identify the person who is Head of State. In respect of the United Kingdom, the royal arms are borne only by the Sovereign.
They are used in many ways in connection with the administration and government of the country, for instance on coins, in churches and on public buildings. Queen Elizabeth the First instructed that all churches should have a royal coat of arms to symbolise the fact that the monarch was the head of the Church of England. They are familiar to most people as they appear on the products and goods of Royal Warrant holders.
It represents the union of different countries and the growth of a family of nations whose influence extends far beyond the British Isles. The British flag is called the "Union Jack", an expression that needs to be explained.

Слайд 9Explanation of the Present Perfect tense
It is used to expressed an

action which happened or completed in past but usually the action which happened or completed at a short time before now (near past) not a very long time before now. Specific time such as two years ago, last week or that day is usually not used in the sentences of in this tense. It means that this tense expresses the action whose time when it happened, is not exactly specified but it sounds to refer to some action that happened or completed in near past. When we use the Present Perfect it means that something has happened at some point in our lives before now. Remember, the exact time the action happened is not important.

Explanation of the Present Perfect tenseIt is used to expressed an action which happened or completed in past but

Sometimes, we want to limit the time we are looking in

for an experience. We can do this with expressions such as: in the last week, in the last year, this week, this month, so far, up to now, etc.
Examples:
Have you been to Mexico in the last year?
I have seen that movie six times in the last month.
They have had three tests in the last week.
She graduated from university less than three years ago. She has worked for three different companies so far.
My car has broken down three times this week.
NOTICE
"Last year" and "in the last year" are very different in meaning. "Last year" means the year before now, and it is considered a specific time which requires Simple Past. "In the last year" means from 365 days ago until now. It is not considered a specific time, so it requires Present Perfect.

Sometimes, we want to limit the time we are looking in for an experience. We can do
